junkpress_ is a publication space created to express Christina’s and Erin’s ideas and unite creatives through prints and physical media. Inspired by the eclectic nature of a junk drawer—where unexpected odds and ends come together in a chaotic yet meaningful way—junkpress_ embodies this sense of creativity and nostalgia. For us, the junk drawer contains a playful collection of stories and nostalgia, and junkpress_ brings these pieces to life through tangible formats like books and zines.

Creating a visual identity that reflects our playfulness and eclectic spirit means having branding that is both approachable and versatile. As a publishing space, junkpress_ needs to adapt across different mediums while maintaining its unique, creative energy. Our use of language includes prefixing terms with an underscore (_) for clarity and structure, much like how you would save a file (e.g., junkpress_projects and junkpress_wip). The majority of the text is in small lettering, with capitalization reserved for names, places, and important terms to maintain a balance between an informal and intentional tone. For other projects, the language varies depending on the nature of the project, but it always stays aligned with our overall creative vision.
